What to send with your bid request
- Current structural, architectural and civil drawings, with their issue dates.
- Concrete specifications, reinforcement notes, schedules and available addenda.
- Project location, included bid alternates and the trades you want excluded.
- Whether you need quantities only or an estimate with material, labor and equipment inputs.
- Your deadline and preferred workbook breakdown.
Earthwork, shoring, pumping, testing, embeds, anchor bolts, vapor barriers and other interfaces must be explicitly included or excluded. Unknown design details are flagged for clarification rather than supplied as engineering assumptions.
Review the quantity basis before pricing
Net measured volume and contractor-agreed waste are shown separately. The review should identify the drawing, dimension, unit and revision behind each quantity. Where pricing is requested, confirm its source, date, location and labor assumptions in the proposal.
